Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of goods within the warehouse environment. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Operating warehouse management systems to track stock levels and inventory control.
- Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer specifications and delivery deadlines.
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility.
- Managing shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring all incoming and outgoing goods are correctly documented.
- Performing quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity and safety.
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting equipment when necessary.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times during warehouse operations.
- Supporting stock rotation activities to minimise waste and ensure product freshness or integrity.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics environments is desirable.
- Proficiency in materials handling equipment, particularly forklifts (certification preferred).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for basic maintenance or troubleshooting of equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stock movement activities.
- Excellent attention to detail for picking, packing, and quality control tasks.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
- Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks as required.
- Posses Fork Lift Truck licence and bendiflex FLT.
- Full, clean driving licence required
Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
