This is a brilliant opportunity for a talented Relief Chef to support a country house hotel in the heart of the Lake District. The hotel offers boutique luxury with stylish bedrooms and suites, elegant lounges, gardens, terraces and a warm, intimate approach to hospitality.
This relief role would suit a confident Chef who can step into a refined, supportive and ambitious kitchen and quickly become part of the team. Standards are high, but the atmosphere remains positive and collaborative, making this ideal for someone who can bring strong section management, calm leadership and consistency during busy service.
This role does provide accommodation, so you must be able to reliably commute or relocate to staff accommodation.
Please note that this role does not provide Sponsorship; to apply you will need a full British Passport or the right to work in the UK.
Relief Chef Ideal Profile:

A confident and capable Sous Chef with a genuine passion for quality food and hospitality

Comfortable supporting senior chefs in a busy, refined kitchen environment

Strong knowledge of fresh, seasonal cooking and well presented dishes

Experience in Rosette standard, luxury hotel or quality restaurant kitchens would be beneficial

Interested in modern British food with European and Japanese influences

Calm and organised with the ability to lead by example during service

Able to adapt quickly and support an established brigade in a relief capacity

Committed to consistency, cleanliness and excellent kitchen standards

A positive team player who works collaboratively and supports junior chefs where needed
Relief Chef Responsibilities:

Support the senior kitchen team with the day to day running of the kitchen

Help deliver high quality seasonal dishes to a consistently excellent standard

Work across à la carte, house menus, tasting menus, afternoon tea and Sunday lunch where required

Lead sections confidently and support the wider brigade through busy services

Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising waste where possible

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation

Step into a leadership role when needed and help guide junior chefs during service

Contribute to a positive, focused and professional kitchen culture
