About us
Horner Shearing is a family-run business based in the village of West Bradford, a short drive from Clitheroe. Established in 1989, we have grown from a husband-and-wife partnership into a successful international business, while remaining firmly rooted in the agricultural community.
Our story began when founders Willie and Mary Horner designed and sold the ground-breaking Longhorn 12v shearing machine, which has since become iconic among professional shearers and farmers around the world.
Still managed by founder Willie and his son Will, we are proud to be a traditional, local, family business. We value strong working relationships with our customers, many of whom have been with us for years.
From our site in West Bradford, we cover the full process from the manufacture and fabrication of our world-renowned sheep shearing products through to sales, servicing, repairs and product innovation.
We are now looking for a Shearing Equipment Service Technician to join our team. If you have a keen eye for detail, are adaptable, practical and willing to get stuck in, we would like to hear from you.
Your duties will include the following:
· Carrying out product repairs and preparation in our dedicated modern workshop
· Sharpening shearing combs and cutters as well as clipper blades
· Liaising with customers with regards to product repairs and warranty
· Assisting customers with any technical enquiries they have
· Creating quotes for customer repairs
· Invoicing repairs and sharpening
· Assisting the office with any help required during our busy periods
· Other varied duties as needed
Candidates must have:
· A friendly and courteous attitude towards customers at all times
· The ability to work well within a team and collaborate with others to receive the best outcome
· Excellent verbal communication
· A willingness and ability to learn about our product range, including technical aspects
· The ability to work under pressure at times
· A can-do attitude with flexibility to do what it takes to get the job done

Job type: Full Time
Hours: Monday-Friday (8am-5pm) and some Saturday mornings (8am-12.30pm).
Saturdays are usually decided between colleagues as to who is available, normally working 1 in 3.
Hourly Rate: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour (Dependant on experience and ability)
