Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and software. The Laser Operator will play a vital part in ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency throughout production.
Duties
- Operate and monitor laser cutting machines to produce precise components according to technical specifications.
- Set up equipment, including programming and adjusting parameters using CAD software and programmable logic controllers.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laser machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints created in SolidWorks or similar CAD programmes.
- Handle materials safely, including loading, unloading, and stacking raw materials and finished products.
- Utilise hand tools, tooling, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or finishing processes.
- Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with materials handling within the warehouse or production floor as required.
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments is essential.
- Training will be provided on the machinery although previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Familiarity with CAD programmes such as SolidWorks and knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Experience with milling, welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and tooling management.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
- Previous warehouse experience or involvement in materials logistics is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of mechanical systems and fabrication processes is preferred.
