We are looking for a reliable Commercial Cleaner to join the E.L Contract Services team at one of our regular customer sites in Cheadle, Staffordshire.
This is a permanent position providing 4 guaranteed hours every Friday morning, from 6:00am until 10:00am.
It could be ideal for somebody looking for a few regular hours each week, a second job, or someone who wants a permanent base of hours with the opportunity to pick up additional E.L shifts when available.
This is an engineering/industrial workplace, rather than a traditional clean office environment. There is no heavy industrial cleaning involved in this position, but applicants should be comfortable working within a busier industrial setting where areas can naturally become dirtier than a standard office environment.
What will I be doing?
You'll be responsible for maintaining the office and welfare areas of the customer's premises to E.L's cleaning standards.
Typical duties include:
- Cleaning office and communal areas
- Wiping desks and surfaces
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Cleaning toilets and washroom areas
- Cleaning kitchen areas
- Emptying bins and replacing liners
- Replenishing consumables such as toilet rolls, hand towels and soap
- Using cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly
- Following site-specific cleaning and health & safety procedures
- Reporting any damage, maintenance concerns or issues noticed during your shift
- Completing the work allocated within your scheduled four-hour shift
All cleaning products, equipment and supplies required for the role are provided by E.L Contract Services.
No experience? That's okay.
Previous cleaning experience is helpful, but it isn't essential.
We can teach you how we clean. We can train you on our products, equipment, COSHH requirements and the specific standards expected at this site.
What we can't teach is attitude.
We're looking for somebody who turns up when they say they will, arrives on time, takes pride in their work and wants to do the job properly.
For us, reliability, attitude and attention to detail are far more important than having years of cleaning experience.
What we're looking for
You'll need to:
- Be available every Friday from 6:00am – 10:00am
- Be reliable and punctual
- Have good attention to detail
- Be comfortable working independently
- Take pride in the standard of work you leave behind
- Be able to follow instructions and site-specific procedures
- Be physically able to undertake commercial cleaning, including standing, bending, lifting and moving cleaning equipment
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Have reliable access to your own vehicle
Due to the location and 6:00am start, reliable personal transport is essential for this vacancy.
Want more hours?
This position guarantees 4 hours every Friday.
However, E.L Contract Services operates across numerous customer sites and project cleans, and additional shifts are regularly advertised to our team through our Connecteam employee app.
If you'd like additional hours, you're very welcome to claim available shifts.
If you simply want your regular four-hour Friday position and nothing more, that's absolutely fine too. We don't expect employees to take additional work.
