Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable skilled PSV (Public Service Vehicle) Shift Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of passenger service vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections of PSV fleet vehicles, including buses and Coaches, to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicle systems such as brakes, engines, transmissions, electrical wiring, and suspension using hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used for each vehicle in compliance with safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and ensuring minimal vehicle downtime.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Electrical experience related to vehicle wiring systems, sensors, and control modules would be an advantage.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues swiftly.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks combined with attention to safety protocols.
- Level 2 / 3 in HGV / PSV Maintenance.
- Valid UK Driving Licence, HGV/PSV would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
