About the Role
We are looking for a motivated graduate Embedded Electronics Engineer to join our engineering team in Manchester. You will develop and test firmware for satellite subsystems, support hardware integration, and contribute to programmes deliverables all under direct mentorship from the Director and senior engineers.
What You'll Do
- Write and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller-based satellite subsystems
- Implement serial communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, RS-422
- Develop drivers and HAL layers for sensors, actuators, and peripheral hardware
- Support hardware bring-up and integration of embedded boards and flight subsystems
- Execute unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tests, and integration procedures
- Use lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power supplies
- Produce technical documentation, test reports, and firmware design notes
- Maintain firmware under Git version control
- Contribute to ESA programme milestone reviews and technical deliverables
Essential:
2:1 or above in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related discipline
Strong C programming skills for embedded targets
Solid understanding of microcontroller architecture ,ARM Cortex-M, STM32, or similar
Familiarity with I2C, SPI, UART communication protocols
Good technical writing and documentation skills
Pay: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
