In this role you will take ownership of the monthly management accounting and reporting processes of a well-established business. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant and have experience communicating with various stakeholders and departments.

Day to day responsibilities:
- To prepare and submit monthly management accounts within the month end timetable
- To ensure that all journal entries are posted in accordance with accounting standards
- Take full ownership of the budgeting and forecasting processes
- To challenge data and recommend actions to secure improvements
- Ensure that balance sheet positions are fully reconciled and supported
- Manage all treasury and cash related activities
- Full ownership of asset management and improve working capital cycles
- To be the main contact for audit queries and take full ownership of the quarterly, half year end and year end audit closures
- To handle vast quantities of data and interrogate the ERP system to better support commercial and financial decision making
- Help exert control over inventory movement
- Report on cost accounting and margin delivery by product category
- Oversee all of the HR activities of the company including payroll and benefits
- Ensuring compliance of legal, tax, administrative and social obligations
- To ensure processes are clearly documented and to recommend improvements
- To present the financial results of the company along with prioritised actions at monthly management meetings
- To manage and mentor a small finance team and develop and guide with confidence
Required skills, qualifications and attributes:
- A strong analytical mindset with strong financial modelling skills
- Confident and precise in communication with a results’ driven attitude
- Experience of manufacturing and engineering environments
- Qualified accountant (ACMA/ACCA/ACA) with the ability and knowledge of working within reporting cycles
- Knowledge and experience of group/international accounting would be desirable
- Proven record of asset management experience is essential
- Must be prepared to challenge and steer performance with confidence
