Overview
We are seeking a Cook/Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, but also willing to train someone with a passion for becoming a chef with little experience, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering quality dishes. must have hygiene certificates, be reliable and due to remote location able to drive is a bonus although there is a train station close by.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative ideas for new dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including cleaning utensils, equipment, and workstations
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure ingredients are fresh and available
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
- Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality settings is highly desirable but can be gained
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Passion for food, creativity, and a desire to learn new culinary skills
Typical working hours are 10-5 but can vary depending on scheduled functions, pay is dependant on experience and ability and will be reviewed after a cooling period
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
