Plumber / Heat Pump Engineer

About the role
TLC Home Group is looking for an experienced Plumber / Heat Pump Engineer to join our team, working across two key areas: our flat conversion development in Newmarket and Saffron Walden, and domestic heat pump installations for customers across the region.
This is a varied role suited to someone who's equally comfortable with first and second fix plumbing on a construction site and installing renewable heating systems in occupied homes.
Key responsibilities
- First and second fix plumbing on flat conversion projects in Newmarket and Saffron Walden, including bathrooms, kitchens, and communal heating systems
- Installation, commissioning, and handover of domestic air source (and/or ground source) heat pump systems
- Working from architect and M&E drawings to install pipework, cylinders, and heating distribution systems
- Diagnosing and resolving issues on new installations and existing systems
- Liaising directly with site managers, other trades, and homeowners to keep work on schedule
- Ensuring all work meets current Building Regulations, Gas Safe/F-Gas requirements (as applicable), and manufacturer installation standards
- Completing accurate paperwork, including commissioning certificates and handover documentation
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a plumber, with a strong track record in domestic and/or new-build settings
- Experience installing heat pumps (air source and/or ground source) — MCS/manufacturer training an advantage
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing, City & Guilds), plus any heat pump-specific certifications (e.g. MCS, manufacturer accreditation)
- Full UK driving licence, own transport
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team across multiple sites
- Good communication skills, particularly when working in occupied homes

Location: Newmarket and Saffron Walden, with travel between sites
Pay: £30,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
