Overview:
We are looking for an organised, reliable and proactive Retail Shop Assistant to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our party shop. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, taking pride in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work 5 days per week, including every Saturday.
- Take responsibility for the daily running of the party shop.
- Ensure the shop is fully stocked, organised and presented to a high standard.
- Place stock orders with approved wholesalers as directed.
- Compare costs and suppliers to ensure the best deals are achieved.
- Ensure stock is rotated correctly and displayed appropriately for promotions and seasonal events.
- Ensure you promote the business by giving out business cards to customers.
- Build relationships with corporate customers and collect business cards and contacts.
- Ensure the shop is cleaned and ready each day, including hoovering before closing.
- Maintain clear walkways and ensure the shop remains a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Ensure sufficient supplies are available, including bags and other shop requirements.
- Keep the counter area clean, tidy and organised.
- Ensure customer calls are answered professionally and handled correctly.
- Complete office administration tasks and use computer systems confidently.
Essential:
- Fluent in English
- Previous experience in a Shop Sales Assistant role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach.
- Computer literate and comfortable using office systems.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Flexible and able to assist with emergencies when required.
Preferred:
- Good knowledge of Shopify.
Role Details:
The successful candidate will report directly to Chantelle Matthews and Nick Smart. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dependable and wants to play an important role in helping our business grow.
PLEASE NOTE:
Our shop opening hours are Tuesday to Friday (11am to 7pm) and Saturday (10am to 5pm) please only apply if you are willing to work these hours.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
