Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 1 truck to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle, including trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety laws and company policies
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, maintaining punctuality and professionalism at all times
- Secure loads properly on trailers, ensuring safe transportation of goods to various destinations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, identifying any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and delivery confirmations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and others
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with loads and delivery routes
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with excellent time management skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as securing loads and handling cargo safely
- Good communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
