About the Role:
MasterVolta Power and Engineering UK Ltd is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Birmingham team. You will support the design, development and delivery of electrical systems for engineering, energy and infrastructure projects.
This role is suited to an experienced engineer who can take ownership of technical work, review complex electrical designs and coordinate effectively with project teams. You will work with mechanical engineers, project managers, contractors and technical suppliers to make sure electrical solutions are safe, reliable and suitable for operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design:
Develop and review electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical drawings for assigned projects.
Power Distribution:
Support the design and assessment of low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
Technical Calculations:
Prepare load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop assessments and other engineering calculations as required.
Design Review:
Review drawings, technical documents and supplier information to confirm compliance with project requirements.
Equipment Selection:
Support the specification and selection of electrical equipment, switchgear, protection devices, cables and associated components.
Project Support:
Work with project teams to resolve technical issues and provide electrical engineering input throughout the project lifecycle.
Installation Support:
Provide technical guidance during installation activities and help resolve site based electrical issues.
Testing and Commissioning:
Support testing, inspection and commissioning activities to verify that electrical systems operate safely and correctly.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare and maintain specifications, reports, calculations, design notes and project records.
Supplier Coordination:
Communicate with equipment suppliers and contractors to clarify technical requirements and review submitted documentation.
Compliance:
Ensure electrical designs and engineering activities follow applicable safety requirements, company procedures and relevant technical standards.
Engineering Improvement:
Identify practical opportunities to improve system reliability, efficiency, maintainability and overall technical performance.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Several years of professional electrical engineering experience within power, industrial, building services, manufacturing or infrastructure environments.
Qualifications:
A degree or equivalent technical qualification in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
Electrical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of electrical distribution, protection, cable systems, switchgear and engineering design principles.
Design Skills:
Experience producing or reviewing electrical calculations, technical specifications and engineering drawings.
Technical Software:
Experience using electrical design, CAD or engineering calculation software is desirable.
Project Experience:
Ability to support several engineering activities while coordinating with project teams, suppliers and contractors.
Problem Solving:
Ability to analyse technical issues, assess engineering options and recommend practical solutions.
Communication:
Strong spoken and written English with the ability to explain technical requirements clearly to colleagues and external partners.
Organisation:
Ability to prioritise technical work, maintain accurate records and meet agreed project deadlines.
Mindset:
You are technically thorough, dependable and solution focused. You take ownership of engineering decisions, raise risks early and balance technical quality with practical project requirements.
Pay: £4,200.00-£4,800.00 per month
