Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Curtain Fitter to join our team, responsible for installing, adjusting, and maintaining curtains and related window treatments in various settings. The ideal candidate will be comfortable discussing, advising and installing curtains and blinds working with a range of tools and materials. Responsibilities
- Measure windows accurately to determine the correct size and fit of curtains and drapes
- Install curtain tracks, poles, and brackets securely using appropriate hand tools and power tools
- Adjust fittings to ensure smooth operation and aesthetic appeal
- Collaborate with clients or project managers to understand specific requirements and preferences
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and building regulations
- Perform maintenance or repairs on existing curtain and blind installations as needed
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment during and after each project
Skills
- Proven experience in the trade is highly desirable
- Familiarity with motorised systems advantageous
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of safety practices and regulations
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to adapt to different installation scenarios
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
