Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an opportunity to showcase culinary skills and contribute to the success of our Public house establishment. The Chef will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality service.
This role is for 5 days a week, working around 10 am - 5 pm shift may alter slightly with trade
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
- Manage food production processes, including portion control and presentation standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
- Lead menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours, resolving any issues promptly
- Train new staff members in food preparation techniques and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong culinary skills with a comprehensive understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Experience in menu development, food production, and restaurant operations
- Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience serving customers or front-of-house duties is advantageous but not essential
