SELF EMPLOYED POSITION
We are seeking a talented and professional Hair Stylist / Barber to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional hair and grooming services, creating a welcoming environment for clients, and contributing to the overall success of our salon. Duties
- Provide a wide range of hair styling, cutting, colouring, and grooming services tailored to individual client needs
- Perform specialised treatments such as eyelash extensions and makeup application as required
- Offer personalised consultations to recommend suitable styles and products
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all work areas and tools
- Manage appointment scheduling at the front desk, ensuring efficient client flow
- Upsell retail products and additional services to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative environment
- Assist with store management tasks including stock replenishment and maintaining visual merchandising standards
- Deliver excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing their concerns professionally
Skills
- Proven experience in barbering or hair styling with a strong portfolio of work
- Knowledge of store management practices and retail upselling techniques
- Skilled in eyelash extensions, makeup application, and other beauty treatments (nice-to-have)
- Exceptional communication skills to engage with clients effectively and understand their needs
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Ability to mentor junior team members and foster a positive team environment
- Organised with excellent time management skills to handle appointments efficiently
- Adaptable with a keen eye for detail and current trends in hairdressing and grooming industries
