Job Purpose:
Jones Services is a family run Classic Car Restoration business in Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire. We work on full restoration projects to servicing and repairs of vehicles of all descriptions. The role would be working within Mechanical Workshop team to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain cars, vans, and other motor vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles using various diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out routine maintenance and servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and timing belts/chains.
- Repair or replace faulty parts such as brakes, clutches, engines, gearboxes, suspension systems, and exhausts.
- Perform vehicle inspections to identify wear, damage, or safety issues.
- Conduct engine diagnostics and repairs.
- Test vehicles after repair to ensure issues have been resolved and road worthiness.
- Carry out MOT preparation and repairs where required.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Follow all health and safety procedures in the workshop.
- Keep tools and work areas clean and organised.
- Liaise with the procurement department to source and identify parts required.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to use vehicle diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Good understanding of vehicle systems (engine, transmission, braking, electrical).
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills when explaining issues to supervisors or customers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (e.g.,Level 3 automotive qualification or higher).
- Previous experience working as a vehicle mechanic or automotive technician in a workshop environment.
- Knowledge of modern vehicle diagnostic systems.
- A clean valid driving licence is required.
- Own tools required.
Working Conditions
- Work is typically carried out in a garage or workshop environment.
- May involve lifting heavy components, standing for long periods, and working with tools and machinery.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 08.00 - 17.00, Friday 08.00 - 16.30 (inc 2 x 15 min breaks and 30 min lunch per day)

Pay: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
