MIG Welder – Northampton
Shift:06:00-14:00 OR 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday (38 hours per week)
Salary: £16.50 per hour for AM and £17.50 per hour for PM
Contract: Permanent
Optimum TA are recruiting for a skilled Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business in Northampton. You’ll be part of a busy, supportive team producing high-quality metal components used across the power generation sector.
What you’ll be doing:
- Tack and weld metal components to engineering drawings
- Check the quality of parts before and after welding
- Measure, grind, and fettle welded parts using air and electric hand tools
- Support general workshop duties as required (training provided)
What we’re looking for:
- Ability to weld to AWSD 1.1 standards (or similar)
- Able to read and work from technical drawings
- Positive, can-do attitude and hands-on approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and attention to detail
Training and Qualifications:
You’ll complete a company welding test before starting, and once onboard, you’ll be trained to AWSD 1.1 welding standard.
