Overview
Sewell Mullings Logie are seeking a highly organised, efficient and proactive Secretary to join our friendly and dynamic team.
In this role, the successful candidate will support legal fee earners in our Cirencester firm to ensure the smooth progression and completion of client matters. Working for two fee earners will mean that the successful candidate must be able to multitask and prioritise work with an emphasis on client care, attention to detail and teamwork. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving business committed to excellence in the legal sector.
We are currently looking for one Secretary to join our Private Client Team and one to join our Property Team. Previous experience in either of these sectors would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate administrative tasks related to client matters with precision and efficiency.
- Perform audio typing of correspondence, legal documents, reports and meetings using the firm's case management system and Microsoft Office.
- Handling telephone calls with clients, third parties and legal professionals.
- Communicating effectively with clients, colleagues and third parties via email and in other written correspondence.
- Schedulling appointments for team members.
- Using the firm's case management system and software to manage administrative tasks on client matters, update databases, track the status of matters and generate detailed reports as required.
- Complying with regulatory requirements involving the opening, closing and running of client matters.
- Maintaining high standards of client care and confidentiality.
- The ability to cope with work pressure in a busy and thriving Department.
Skills and Experience
- Proven administrative experience.
- Previous secretarial experience.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to liaise confidently with others.
- Proficiency in audio typing with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent IT skills with familiarity in managing digital records and using various software tools.
- Demonstrated time management abilities to meet deadlines consistently while maintaining attention to detail.
