Durant Sports designs and installs cricket net facilities and related sports infrastructure, including flooring, netting systems, and covered/indoor structures, for clients ranging from schools and clubs to professional cricket grounds. Our installation teams work on sites across the country, both indoors and outdoors, delivering high-quality facilities to spec and on schedule. The RoleWe're looking for an experienced Project Team Leader to run installation projects on-site from start to finish. You'll lead a small team of installers, manage day-to-day site operations, and be the main point of contact for clients while work is underway. Projects involve a mix of flooring and netting installation, both indoors (sports halls, indoor cricket centres) and outdoors (grounds, courts, and open sites), so you'll need to be equally comfortable managing both environments. This role suits someone who's happiest running their own site, keeping a team on track, and taking pride in a clean, well-finished job — with plenty of travel and variety along the way.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise an installation team on-site, allocating tasks and keeping work on programme
- Take ownership of assigned projects from mobilisation through to handover, including flooring and netting installations across both indoor and outdoor settings
- Read and work from technical drawings and specifications, ensuring installations match design intent
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, site managers, and other trades, dealing with day-to-day queries professionally
- Manage site logistics — materials, tools, equipment, and vehicle/van coordination — to keep projects moving efficiently
- Carry out and enforce site-level health & safety procedures, including toolbox talks, risk assessments, and RAMS compliance
- Monitor quality of workmanship throughout the project and resolve issues before handover
- Report project progress, delays, and any variations back to the Head of Operations
- Support scheduling and coordination of your team's travel and accommodation for multi-day/multi-site work
- Train, mentor, and manage the performance of installers within your team
- Maintain accurate site records — timesheets, delivery notes, snagging lists, and job completion sign-off
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading a team on-site within construction, groundworks, sports surfacing, netting, or a related installation trade
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, and adapting to different site conditions
- Strong people-management skills — able to organise, motivate, and hold a team accountable
- Confident reading technical drawings and specifications
- Good communicator, comfortable liaising directly with clients and other trades on-site
- A practical, hands-on approach — willing to work alongside the team, not just direct from the sidelines
- Full UK driving licence (essential) — role involves regular travel to sites across the country, including overnight stays
- Working knowledge of on-site health & safety requirements (CSCS card or equivalent desirable)
- Flexible and reliable, with a positive attitude to variety in day-to-day work
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience
- Company vehicle
- Travel and accommodation covered for away work
- Variety of projects across the country — no two sites the same
- Opportunity to grow with a company that's investing in its team and systems
Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
