Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our nursery. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, whilst assisting the Nursery Manager in overseeing staff and maintaining high standards of childcare. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with management experience in early childhood education to contribute to a positive learning environment and support the development of young children.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in the organisation and supervision of daily nursery activities
- Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
- Oversee the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Lead by example in providing a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment for children
- Support recruitment, training, and performance management of nursery staff
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and daily routines
- Assist with planning educational activities that promote children's development across all areas
- Ensure the nursery operates efficiently, including managing resources and supplies
- Support the implementation of policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards
- Drive organisational initiatives to enhance service quality and compliance
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
- Experience working directly with children, demonstrating a good understanding of childcare principles
- Knowledge of early childhood development and educational best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travel between nursery locations or community engagements
- Childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Early Years Educator essential, level 5 desirable.

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,500.00 per year
