Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
- Organise ingredients and supplies efficiently to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
- Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance and leadership
- Ensure all food production complies with health and safety regulations
- Contribute to menu development ideas and seasonal updates
- Assist with serving food during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery to customers
- Support inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages
Qualifications
- Proven experience or background in food production, cooking, or hospitality environments
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience supervising or managing team members is desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate colleagues
- Passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the industry
