Join Our Route Telecoms Team!
We're looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Technician (Cables) to join our Route Telecoms team at Three Bridges Depot . In this role, you'll help keep our railway connected and performing at its best by supporting faulting, maintenance, and renewal activities across the route.
You'll be a key part of our Cables Section , working hands¿on with copper and fibre systems that keep vital railway communications flowing. ¿¿
What You'll Do
Carry out inspections, fault¿finding, maintenance and renewal work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Support and occasionally lead work activities, ensuring delivery aligns with procedures and standards.
Maintain strong safety arrangements for all staff under your oversight, including contractors.
Work safely in accordance with Safe Systems of Work, method statements, and operational instructions.
Undertake tasks you are trained and competent to perform, always demonstrating professionalism.
Direct work activities safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
Check and verify the quality of work, ensuring assets meet required performance and safety expectations.
Confirm staff working under your direction hold valid and appropriate competencies.
Ensure vehicles, tools, plant, and equipment are safe, fit for use, and properly stored or disposed of.
Report completed and outstanding work accurately, maintaining up¿to¿date records.
Support your own professional development and contribute to helping others grow.
Follow all company policies and procedures at all times.
Provide support and deputise for the Section Manager when required.
What You'll Need
Experience working with telecoms equipment, such as:
Copper and fibre cable networks
PDH and SDH transmission equipment
CISCO routers
GSM¿R radio network
Telecoms switches and exchanges
Ability to climb and maintain telecoms aerial masts - holding, or willing to achieve, Working at Heights competencies
