Westbourne Medical Centre is a successful Practice located in Bournemouth (BH4 9HJ) with a growing patient list of nearly 21000 patients. We have a fantastic clinical and non-clinical team and pride ourselves on the exceptional level of health care offered to our patients. We constantly strive to innovate and improve our services, and ways of working.
We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic Patient Co-ordinator. This is a permanent role starting as soon as possible. We are flexible and in return, expect flexibility for sickness and holiday cover.
The role involves interaction with the public both face to face, over the phone, via email and online platforms.
Your working hours will be totalling 37.5 hours per week, which will be worked from Monday to Friday 10:00-18:30 (60-minute unpaid break)

Job summary:
Greet, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Job responsibilities:
- Adhere to established written protocols.
- Monitor practice email inboxes and take appropriate actions.
- Register patients in the Clinical System.
- Update patient addresses in computer data and medical records.
- Welcome patients consulting with practice team members.
- Distribute completed repeat prescriptions to patients, verifying names and addresses.
- Receive and review completed patient registration paperwork for errors and verify identification.
- Print sample labels.
- Process appointment requests for same-day and future appointments from patients via telephone and in person.
- Answer incoming calls promptly.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in office or administrative roles.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare or medical practice administration is advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Friendly, professional demeanour with a patient-focused approach.
