Electrical Pre-Construction Manager
Location: Northern Ireland
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Pre-Construction Manager to join a well-established M&E contractor delivering major projects across Northern Ireland and the wider UK & Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional looking to move into, or continue developing within, a senior pre-construction position.

Candidates do not necessarily need to already hold the Pre-Construction Manager title if they have strong electrical technical, design, estimating or project delivery experience.
The Role
Working within the Projects Division, you will take responsibility for electrical projects through the pre-construction and design stages, coordinating projects from final bid submission through to RIBA Stage 5 design completion.
You will work closely with clients, consultants, commercial teams, design partners, procurement and project delivery teams to ensure designs are technically compliant, coordinated, buildable and commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design coordination from RIBA Stage 3 through to Stage 5
- Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications and Employers' Requirements
- Work closely with commercial teams during final bid submissions
- Identify and implement value engineering opportunities
- Ensure electrical designs are technically compliant and commercially viable
- Coordinate electrical services with other building services and specialist installations
- Work alongside external consultants and design partners
- Review drawings and technical documentation prior to client submission
- Prepare and manage technical submittals
- Monitor design programmes and key information release dates
- Attend client, consultant and main contractor meetings
- Carry out technical reviews, feasibility assessments and project risk reviews
- Assist Contracts Managers and procurement teams with major plant and specialist packages
- Liaise with specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners
- Support Gateway 2 and Building Safety Act compliance requirements
- Support BREEAM and wider sustainability requirements
- Ensure an effective handover from pre-construction into the project delivery team
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have a strong electrical background with experience across building services, M&E contracting, electrical design, estimating, contracts management or project delivery.
You should have:
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations and current regulations
- Experience working on commercial, residential, healthcare, education or other major building projects
- Good understanding of electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Strong commercial awareness
- Experience dealing with clients, consultants and contractors
- Ability to identify technical and commercial risks
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines
Experience with CAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM, BREEAM, Gateway 2 or Building Safety Act requirements would be advantageous but is not essential for every applicant.
