Job Title: Design Manager - Maternity Cover
Location: South Wales
Scope of the Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic, creative and passionate Design Manager to join our busy studio team in Penallta, South Wales as maternity leave cover. The Design Manager will take the lead in managing allocated accounts from a design perspective by building strong external relationships, interpreting customer strategy, trends and/or briefs into customer ranges of the highest quality to meet commercial objectives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage customer relationships from concept to final approval, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Help identify team strengths and development needs.
- Support workload planning to meet customer deadlines.
- Lead and contribute to creative and product development projects.
- Align design work with sales growth and commercial objectives.
- Develop seasonal trends, colour palettes, and customer-specific themes.
- Review designs for accuracy, quality, and customer suitability.
- Ensure commercially viable designs considering production and cost.
- Contribute to all stages of new product development.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Category, Product, Repro, and Production teams.
- Brief internal and freelance designers, managing budgets and design spend.
- Maintain quality standards, documentation, and process improvements.
- Promote Health & Safety and Quality Policy compliance.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required by management.
