Business Development Executive
Office Based – Hinckley
About the Role
We're looking for a confident and motivated Business Development Executive to join our growing commercial team.
This is a desk-based sales role where you'll speak with new and existing prospects, identify business opportunities, and help turn enquiries into long-term customers. You'll work with leads generated by our marketing activity as well as carrying out your own proactive business development.
Your role will be to understand each customer's transport requirements, explain how X2 can help, and guide them through the sales process until they're ready to start trading with us.

Location
Office based – Logix Park, Hinckley
Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, with a paid 30-minute lunch break.

What You'll Be Doing
Developing New Business
- Contact and follow up with leads generated through marketing campaigns and your own prospecting.
- Identify businesses that could benefit from X2's transport services.
- Qualify opportunities and build a healthy pipeline of potential customers.
- Guide prospects through the sales process and help convert them into active customers.
- Tenders assist in completing and coordinating tender response
Understanding Customer Requirements
- Speak with prospective customers to understand their transport operations and challenges.
- Identify how X2's services can add value to their business.
- Gather the information needed to prepare accurate transport solutions and pricing.
Managing Your Sales Pipeline
- Keep customer information and activity up to date within our CRM system.
- Follow up opportunities consistently and move them through the sales process.
- Work closely with our Operations and Customer Development teams to ensure a smooth handover once a customer comes on board.
Working with the Team
- Share customer feedback and market insight with the marketing team.
- Help improve the quality of leads and future campaigns.
- Contribute ideas to improve our sales process and customer experience.
Building Relationships
- Develop professional relationships with prospective customers.
- Represent X2 in a knowledgeable, friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain regular contact with prospects throughout the sales journey.
What We're Looking For
- Around 1–3 years' experience in business development, telesales, inside sales or a similar office-based sales role.
- Confident speaking with customers over the phone and by email.
- A positive, target-focused attitude with the motivation to achieve results.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Well organised and able to manage several opportunities at the same time.
- Experience using a CRM system such as HubSpot would be an advantage.
- Experience within transport, logistics or supply chain would be useful but is not essential.
- Experience in using Tender platforms an advantage
- A willingness to learn, develop and build a long-term career with X2.

Pay: £35,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
