Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including flatbed trucks and other commercial vehicles, following all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, unload, and secure goods on delivery vehicles with care to prevent damage during transit
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet scheduled delivery times
- Verify delivery details against orders, obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers, and complete all necessary documentation accurately
- Communicate proactively with dispatch to report progress, delays, or issues encountered during deliveries
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure optimal safety and maintenance standards are met
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with customers during deliveries
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role with a focus on commercial driving
- Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and safe driving practices
- Experience with flatbed trucks or specialized delivery vehicles preferred
- Excellent time management skills to adhere to tight schedules
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting packages and securing cargo efficiently
- Good communication skills for clear interaction with customers and team members
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving license (CDL) is a plus
