We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Children Support Worker’s to support Alternative Education within Suffolk.
Rula Homecare offers Therapeutic Alternative Education for children whom mainstream settings have not worked. This is often due to trauma, loss, disrupted attachments or disabilities.
Our approaches will involve a holistic approach with creative arts therapies, sensory and regulated activities, animal assisted therapies and active outdoor learning.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess the ability to communicate effectively. It’s a varied and flexible role; a challenging yet rewarding position; helping to enhance the child's life by encouraging them to participate in positive activities, promote independence and improve emotional regulation and confidence.
Duties
· Support in offering a therapeutic approach to alternative learning and education
· Communicate regularly with children to understand their needs and preferences, fostering a trusting relationship.
· Maintain accurate records of support provided and report any changes in behaviour or health to the relevant professionals.
· Following an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) to meeting outcomes
· Support within the community attending activities including and not limited too; local parks, zoo's, farm's, bowling and swimming.
The right candidate will;
· Have previous experience of working with complex needs and challenging behavior's,
· Be positive, caring and supportive,
· Have good communication skills and and be an excellent listener,
· Be committed to providing support in positively changing a young person’s life.
· Be a driver with access to own car and business insurance
Paying £13.50 per hour.
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, School Term Time only, between hours of 9am to 3pm
