Opus CNC is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join our growing engineering team.
This role will focus primarily on carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and support work across our range of CNC routers and laser cutting machines. The successful candidate will visit customer sites throughout the UK, ensuring machines are operating correctly, safely, and efficiently.
This is a customer-facing role, so we are looking for someone who is technically minded, reliable, professional, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing on CNC routers and laser cutting machines
- Inspect, test, and maintain mechanical and electrical components
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs where required
- Complete service reports and communicate findings clearly
- Advise customers on basic machine care and preventative maintenance
- Support the engineering team with installations and technical visits when needed
- Travel to customer sites across the UK
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a service, maintenance, or engineering role would be beneficial
- Strong mechanical and electrical understanding would be beneficial
- Experience with CNC machinery, lasers, automation, or industrial machinery would be beneficial
- Confident using tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical documentation
- Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Full UK driving licence required
