Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Yacht Technician, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing luxury yachts to the highest standards. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of vessel systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and aesthetics. As a Yacht Technician, you will apply your mechanical expertise and hands-on skills to troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and execute repairs that keep our clients’ vessels in pristine condition. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional service and ensuring every yacht operates smoothly on the water.
Responsibilities
· Boat Systems Service & Repair Carry out comprehensive diagnostics, servicing, and repair across all onboard systems including engines, steering, fuel systems, and onboard equipment. Identify root causes of faults and execute effective repairs with minimal supervision.
· Hull & Deck Maintenance Perform all aspects of hull care including surface preparation, antifouling application, cutting and polishing, and installation of through-hull fittings, seacocks, and transducers to a high standard.
· Marine Plumbing Install, service, and repair freshwater, grey water, and raw water systems including pumps, tanks, hoses, and fittings. Diagnose leaks, blockages, and pump failures.
· Electrical Fault-Finding & Repair Systematically troubleshoot DC and AC electrical systems to identify and rectify faults in wiring, connections, switches, and components. Read and interpret wiring diagrams.
· GRP & Structural Repairs Undertake fibreglass repairs including gelcoat damage, osmosis treatment, and minor laminate work. Carry out associated structural repairs to decks, bulkheads, and fittings.
· Vessel Commissioning Prepare new and pre-owned vessels for handover, including system checks, sea trials, and final inspections to ensure all equipment functions correctly and meets customer expectations.
· Workshop Standards Maintain all tools, equipment, and work areas in good order. Follow safe working practices and contribute to an organised, efficient workshop environment.
Experience
- Proven experience working with mechanical systems on boats or similar vehicles
- Strong knowledge of yacht or marine vessel systems including engines, hydraulics, electrical wiring, and plumbing
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams with ease
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward troubleshooting
- Prior experience in a marine or yacht maintenance environment is preferred but not mandatory

Pay: £26,500.00-£37,000.00 per year
