Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their physical and emotional wellbeing. This role offers an opportunity to lead by example, supervise junior staff, and contribute to personalised care plans. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate resident outings and appointments. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring residents' dignity and independence are maintained.
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring high standards of care delivery.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication administration.
- Organise and participate in activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation for residents.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure cohesive care provision.
- Support residents during outings or appointments outside the care home using a valid driving licence when required.
- Uphold health and safety standards within the care environment, including infection control procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a care home or senior care setting, with supervising or leadership responsibilities preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents and their families.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to implement individualised programmes effectively.
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for facilitating resident outings.
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to supervise staff efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities.
