Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Horticultural Worker/Nursery Person to join our team. This role involves hands-on work in plant cultivation, nursery maintenance, and general horticultural tasks. The successful candidate will contribute to the health and growth of our plants while ensuring the nursery operates smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about horticulture and outdoor maintenance to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist with planting, watering, fertilising, and pruning of plants to promote healthy growth
- Operate irrigation systems and perform routine maintenance to ensure proper water distribution
- Use hand tools and power tools for planting, trimming, and general nursery upkeep
- Carry out basic maths for measurements, quantities, and inventory management
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery area, including debris removal and tool storage
- Support with general horticultural activities such as soil preparation, pest control, and landscape enhancement
Qualifications
- Previous experience with horticulture or nursery work is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in plant care and nursery upkeep
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor labour throughout the day
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements, inventory tracking, and scheduling purposes
