The Opportunity
Are you ready to help shape the future of careers education and employer engagement across York and North Yorkshire?
We are looking for a passionate and driven Partnership Development Officer to join our Skills and Employment Team. You will play a key role in partnering with schools, colleges and training providers to drive high-quality careers education, employer engagement and meaningful work experience opportunities.
Working collaboratively with education leaders, employers and strategic partners, you will help ensure that young people across the region are well prepared for their future careers, equipped with the skills and experiences they need to succeed, and able to access clear pathways into local opportunities.
In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing the work of the York and North Yorkshire Careers Hub, bringing together schools, colleges, training providers, employers and strategic partners to strengthen careers education, enhance employer engagement and expand high-quality work experience opportunities for young people.
You will:
- Work as part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering the region’s Skills Strategy.
- Lead strategic initiatives that link employers with education to shape the future workforce.
- Lead the development of impactful work experience, careers and skills initiatives that respond to regional priorities.
- Help build a region-wide, all-age careers ecosystem.
- Collaborate with partners across sectors- from local authorities to industry leaders- to co-create innovative solutions.
What you will bring
- Knowledge of Careers Education and Skills Development - an understanding of careers education, employability and the opportunities and challenges facing schools, colleges and training providers.
- Confidence in engaging and influencing stakeholders, including senior leaders, educators, and employers.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, deliver, and support reporting on programmes.
- Proven experience in economic or business development, with a collaborative approach to partnership working.
- A Passion for Improving Outcomes for Young People
- Strong Partnership and Relationship-Building Skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on making things better.
- Comfortable using digital tools like Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- A degree or equivalent experience.
