Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to oversee daily operations within our hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent guest service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant and bar management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining smooth operational flow during assigned shifts. The Duty Manager will play a pivotal role in upholding our standards of service excellence and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the Restaurant/Bar during assigned shifts, ensuring all departments function seamlessly.
- Supervise and support staff, housekeeping, and food & beverage teams.
- Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and promptness to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with human resources for staffing needs, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies across all departments.
- Monitor financial transactions, billing procedures, and inventory levels to maintain operational accuracy.
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding guest services while maintaining a welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
- Assist in organising staff schedules, training programmes, and performance evaluations as required.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex guest issues or operational challenges outside regular procedures.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within the hospitality industry, ideally in Restaurant or Bar management roles.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Excellent guest service skills with a focus on delivering memorable experiences.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities to facilitate communication with international guests and staff members.
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to staffing, training, and employee relations is beneficial.
- Familiarity with hospitality operations including front desk management, reservations systems, and health & safety standards.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal in English; additional languages are advantageous.
