Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and meal preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that delight our customers while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and customer preferences.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and effective communication during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proven skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills.
