Job Title: Customer Service Officer

Hours: Full Time (4 days office, 1 day working from home)
BRC are working closely with a leading housing organisation to recruit a
Customer Service Officer on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customer service professional to join a busy housing team as the first point of contact for residents. You will deliver a high-quality, end-to-end customer service, handling a wide range of housing-related enquiries and working closely with internal teams to ensure customers receive timely and effective resolutions. The role follows a hybrid working pattern of four days in the office and one day working from home.
Duties:
- Act as the first point of contact for customers via telephone, email, social media, web enquiries and face-to-face.
- Deliver a one-stop customer service, resolving enquiries wherever possible.
- Handle a variety of housing-related enquiries, including repairs, tenancy, rent and estate management.
- Raise and diagnose repair requests, ensuring the correct priority and instructions are issued.
- Liaise with contractors and internal teams to resolve customer queries efficiently.
- Handle challenging and sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Escalate safeguarding concerns where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate customer records and update internal systems.
- Work towards individual and team performance targets while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service or contact centre environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong administration and IT skills.
- Experience using CRM systems, with Salesforce experience highly desirable.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.
- Social housing experience is desirable but not essential.
