Who we are
The Isle of Skye Sea Salt Company was founded in 2011 with a simple vision: to resurrect an ancient tradition of sea salt production in Scotland using nothing more than the sun, the wind, and the mineral rich waters surrounding the island. At the forefront of our business is sustainability.
We are a small, dedicated, and enthusiastic team, proud of the care we put into every stage of production. You’ll find our tins on kitchen shelves around the world, and in retailers both on Skye and across the UK, each one a little reminder of the island’s landscape.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Generating new sales through multiple channels
- Developing existing clients
- Managing social media channels
- Writing content for blogs, social media posts
- Designing product packaging and gift sets
- Fulfilling orders
- Delivering to clients and in person visits
- Running sales and promotions
- Developing marketing materials
- Attending and organising events (trade shows, B2C food festivals, tasting days etc)
- Monitoring and reporting on sales performance
You’ll also support the wider business where needed
- Assisting with salt production (sorting, drying, milling, packaging, labelling, and making gift sets) during busy periods
- Adhering to food safety policies and ensuring all activities are carried out in line with agreed procedures
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone enthusiastic and adaptable who is excited to work in a small team and get stuck in.
This is a key role at the heart of our sea salt business where creativity and innovation will thrive. You will need to adapt to quickly changing situations and be able to use analytical thinking to measure success.
While the core duties of this role are sales & marketing, all staff get involved in production from time to time to adapt to different levels of demand. We are a seasonal business and the summer months can differ greatly from the winter months.

This role offers the chance to contribute to a unique and sustainable business that’s achieving growth, while enjoying life on Skye. It is a year-round position based on the Isle of Skye and you will need to reside on the island within commuting distance of Dunvegan.
Pay: £27,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
