Are you passionate about helping children and young people stay safe, settled and supported within their families? We're looking for a dedicated Edge of Care Support Worker to join our team and provide practical, hands-on support to young people who are on the edge of care — helping to prevent family breakdown and keep them thriving at home wherever possible.

About the role
You'll work directly with children, young people and their families, building trusting relationships and offering the right support at the right time. Your work may include:
- Providing one-to-one and family-based support to children and young people at risk of coming into care.
- Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a consistent, reliable presence.
- Supporting young people to develop confidence, routines and coping strategies.
- Encouraging engagement with education, activities and their local community.
- Working alongside families, social workers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes.
- Recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, and keeping accurate records and reports.
What you'll need (essential)
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- Registered on the DBS Update Service
- Able to work evenings/nights and weekends
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with business insurance.
- A flexible approach
- Strong communication skills and a calm, non-judgemental, trauma-informed approach.
Desirable
- Experience in edge of care, fostering, residential, youth work or a similar setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- A relevant qualification in health and social care, childcare or youth work (e.g. NVQ/Level 3 or above).
Pay: From £16.00 per hour
