Shift pattern: 08.00- 20.00 (days), 20.00-08.00 (sleep nights)
Hours: 36 hours
Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence
We are looking for caring, reliable and confident Care Assistant to join a small team supporting an individual who lives at home with their family in Truro. This person has Autism and behaviours that may present as challenging — and they rely on a consistent team who truly understand them.
The person we support enjoys arts and crafts, pottery and community outgoings, but can also experience periods of distress which may result in behaviours that challenge. We are looking for someone who can remain calm under pressure, use positive behaviour support approaches, and build trusting relationships through consistency and patience.
✨What You’ll Need

Experience supporting individuals with Autism, Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities, or behaviours that challenge.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

A calm, patient, and resilient approach

Confidence in managing and de-escalating challenging situations

Full UK driving licence

Provide person- centred care on a 2:1 basis

Deliver person-centred support.

Promote independence and wellbeing.

Support community access and meaningful activities.

Encouraging social interaction and promoting emotional wellbeing

Helping with routine household tasks to maintain a calm, organised environment
