Job Summary

The Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager has a vital role in ensuring that not only performance quality remains high but is Scarab’s manufacturing & assembly continuously improves towards operational excellence.
The Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager must have deep knowledge and experience of LEAN manufacturing philosophy including the application of LEAN techniques in production and service. Must be experienced in the deployment and operation of Quality Management Systems throughout the business and its supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Defining and implementing quality controls and policies for the company.
- Manage operational change to meet current business requirements.
- Support implementation of NPI into operations practice, working closely with Design Engineering to ensure success.
- Identify waste elimination opportunities and championing operational improvement projects.
- Ensure production methods are cost effective and stable to meet customer build requirements.
- Accurately forecast and manage workloads and regularly analyse data.
- Maintain and develop enhanced procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and core operational requirements.
- Monitoring the ongoing performance and outputs of manufacturing performance and support improvements through efficient industrialisation.
- Undertaking internal quality audits.
- Manage QMS, conduct management reviews and own relative ISO standards (ISO9001).
- Provide updates to senior managers and directors around quality issues.
- Ensure that all suppliers meet the quality requirements of the company.
- Work closely with functional heads to deliver industrial enhancements.
Skills and Abilities
- Hold an HNC, HND or Degree level qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Has a working understanding of Quality Management Systems.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a quality role.
- Lead auditor trained.
- Experience of proactive management of non-conformance within both internal and external supply chain.
- Experience of deploying quality tools and techniques i.e., Lean, 5S, VSM, APQP.
- Ability to display knowledge of 8D, DMAIC, A3 and other problem-solving tools.
- Familiar with Project Management disciplines within the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to identify and deliver change programmes in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to develop pro-active reporting to drive and measure business improvements.
- A careful planner, who can deliver and coordinate work plans with strategic objectives.
- Professional and presentable image and manner.
- Preferably a Chartered Quality Institute Professional.
- Preferably Six Sigma trained to Black Belt.

Pay: £65,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
