Seasonal Ushers & Gift Shop Assistants
May – October | Part-Time | 2–3 Days per Week | Weekends Included
The Jane Austen Centre is looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Seasonal Ushers & Gift Shop Assistants. This exciting role offers the chance to be part of a lively visitor attraction celebrating one of England’s most beloved authors.
About the Role:
You’ll be the welcoming face that greets our guests, supports the smooth flow of visitors throughout the exhibition, and assists in our charming Gift Shop. You’ll bring the Centre to life by engaging with visitors and enhancing their experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver warm, professional, and helpful customer service at all times
- Actively engage with visitors using interactive props and exhibit touch points
- Assist with shop sales, restocking, and maintaining an inviting retail space
- Support the daily flow of visitors, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of actors, ushers, guides, retail staff, and management

Working Hours:
Shifts are between 9:30am and 6:00pm, 2–3 days per week, including weekends.
This is a seasonal position running from June to September.
The Ideal candidate would be available to work during the Jane Austen Festival from 11th September - 20th September 2026.
