We're a 55 bed nursing dementia home with mental health and Challenging Behaviour. Caring nature is essential. Weekends included. Training and induction is given and level 2 encouraged to start if not already done for Carer job role.
Shifts are 06:45-19:00
Must be available to cover at short notice.
Online DBS preferred.
Duties
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, promoting independence and dignity
- Support the implementation of personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ mental well-being
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and their families to coordinate care and address concerns
- Support with medication reminders and basic health monitoring under supervision
- Drive or accompany clients on errands or appointments when required, ensuring safe transportation
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is essential
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly
- Ability to use IT systems for record keeping and documentation efficiently
- Valid driving license is advantageous for roles involving home visits or transportation duties
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ health and well-being
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Basic understanding of care plans, health & safety protocols, and confidentiality standards
