Dog Walker & Sitter - Dulwich
Al's Pals is a small dog walking business in South East London and I'm looking for someone lovely and reliable to join me Monday to Friday, with occasional boarding at the weekends.
I'm looking for someone who genuinely LOVES dogs and is used to being around them. The main part of the job is dog walking with occasional overnight boarding at your home.
You'll need to live around Peckham, Dulwich, Nunhead or nearby.
It is essential that you have your own car.
Hours
You'll usually be working roughly between 9am and 2:30pm, although every day is slightly different depending on the dogs and bookings.
Mondays and Fridays are usually our quieter days, so these are often more like half days, while Tuesday–Thursday tend to be busier.
Because this isn't an hourly role, you're paid for the dogs and services you do rather than the amount of time you're out. This also means that as your groups get busier and you take on more dogs, your earnings increase without necessarily having to work longer hours.
What you'll be doing
You'll usually do 2 group walks a day, sometimes 3 depending on bookings. This involves picking the dogs up from their homes, taking them out for their walk and safely dropping them home afterwards.
I'll organise your days for you, including which dogs you're collecting, where you need to be and when. I also deal with all the bookings, clients, invoices and payments, so you don't need to worry about the business/admin side of things.
Pay
The role is paid per dog and per service rather than hourly, so the busier your walks become, the more you earn.
For this role, pay would have averaged around £525 per week / £2,275 per month, with individual weeks ranging from around £400–£670, depending on bookings.
Bookings naturally change from week to week, so this isn't a guaranteed salary, but there is plenty of room for earnings to grow. As Al's Pals takes on more dogs and your groups become busier, you'll earn more too.
Once you've been with Al's Pals for a while and everything is going well, I'm also happy to review and increase your rate.
You'll also receive a cash bonus for any new clients you bring to Al's Pals, so you'll benefit from helping grow your own routes too.
On top of your pay, I give £5 towards petrol for every day you work, which works out at around another £100 per month when working Monday to Friday.
I provide all the leads, poo bags, treats and other bits you'll need for the dogs. I also organise the schedule, bookings, invoices and client communication, so you can concentrate on looking after the dogs.
I'm looking for someone who:
- Really loves dogs and has plenty of experience with them
- Is confident looking after and walking multiple dogs
- Is happy and able to have dogs at home for daycare and occasional overnight boarding
- Has their own car and a full UK driving licence
- Lives around Peckham, Dulwich, Nunhead or nearby
- Is reliable – the dogs and their owners need to be able to depend on you
- Is available Monday to Friday
- Wants something long-term and would like to grow with Al's Pals
You don't need to already be a professional dog walker, but you do need to be very comfortable with dogs and genuinely enjoy spending your working day with them.
