Kitchen Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced kitchen supervisor who will oversee daily kitchen operations at our cafe, ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This role leads cafe staff, neurodiverse learners and volunteers, manages inventory and food costs and helps create a welcoming environment that reflects our CIC’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient service
- Order supplies, and maintain stock level
- Plan and oversee food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality and presentation
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Handle day to day kitchen issues and escalate larger concerns to the cafe manager
- Support menu development including seasonal or community requested dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen equipment and storage areas
Staff Supervision:
- Supervise, coordinate and train cafe staff, neurodiverse learners and volunteers during shifts
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Financial Management:
- Keep a record of all expenses and sales and follow company menu specifications to ensure profitability
- Assist in fundraising activities related to the café
Qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience in a commercial kitchen
- Catering qualification at level 3 or above
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets

Pay: £24,912.17-£26,436.99 per year
