Lead Gardener - 2 days a week
He Found Gardening is a small, friendly, passionate garden maintenance business serving mainly domestic customers in their private gardens with some commercial maintenance contracts in and around the SG8 postcode area. We specialise in regular garden maintenance, providing a bespoke service to each customer to ensure their gardens look the best they can. We have a full order book, year round work and require a skilled, experienced, hardworking and enthusiastic Team Leader to join our team.
The role:
Working alongside one of our existing gardeners, as Team Leader you will have a passion for gardening, treating each garden as if it were your own. You will have a full and clean UK driving license, at least 3 years gardening experience in a similar role, excellent plant ID and plant care skills, confident, professional and reliable. Using our scheduling app you will be able to see what jobs are scheduled for the coming day/week/month, allowing you to prepare for each day and job in advance. You'll have excellent communication skills to delegate work to the gardening assistant, advise the client with any queries they might have and notify management of any changes/issues that may arise.
You will be responsible for driving the van to each job, assessing what tasks are required and managing the Assistant Gardener giving out tasks.
Tasks may include grass cutting, edging lawns, hedge trimming, leaf clearing, maintaining borders - weeding, pruning etc, strimming, planting, new border creations, shrub pruning etc.
You will be representing He Found Gardening so must have professional communication skills, be confident and enthusiastic . You must be able to advise customers on plant care or planting suggestions if required.
Working hours vary but start time is 7.45am and finish usually 5/6pm.
This is a freelance role and paid by the number of hours worked.
