KS2 After-School Photography Club Teacher
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Photography Club Teacher to deliver engaging after-school sessions for Key Stage 2 pupils on Tuesdays 3:30-4:30.
Salary: £40-£60 depending on class size and experience
The successful candidate will inspire children to develop their creativity while learning the fundamentals of photography in a fun, supportive, and hands-on environment. Sessions should encourage pupils to explore composition, lighting, perspective, storytelling through images, and basic photo editing using age-appropriate equipment and software. Throughout the course, pupils will also build a personal photography portfolio that showcases their progress, creativity, and developing technical skills.
The teacher will be responsible for:
- Teaching photography techniques such as framing, composition, lighting, colour, texture, and perspective.
- Supporting pupils in creating and developing a personal photography portfolio throughout the term.
- Encouraging pupils to experiment creatively and build confidence in expressing their ideas through photography.
- Demonstrating the safe and responsible use of cameras and photography equipment.
- Preparing and setting up resources before each session and ensuring equipment is packed away safely afterwards.
- Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels encouraged to participate.
- Communicating professionally with school staff and representing the club in a positive manner.
- Following safeguarding procedures and maintaining high standards of behaviour management at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with primary-aged children.
- A passion for photography and creativity.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Reliable, organised, and punctual.
This role is ideal for photographers, creative practitioners, or educators who enjoy inspiring young people and helping them develop new skills through practical, engaging projects while helping them produce a portfolio they can be proud of.
