City & County Graphics Ltd, Oxfordshire’s leading sign manufacturer, are looking to employ a full time driver with additional duties as a Yardman.
The driving function will require early starts to ensure our signs are delivered to site by 08.00am most days (this probably means 06.00am starts if not earlier) using vehicles from our fleet of large vans, flatbeds and curtain siders (mostly Mercedes). A clean driving license is essential and reliability is key.
Once the delivery has been made and you are back at our factory the remainder of the day will consist of duties such as -
- the cleaning and simple maintenance of the vehicle fleet (oil levels, AdBlu levels, tyre checks etc);
- dismantling of old/removed signs as they are returned to the yard separating frames (aluminium and wood) for recycling;
- neatly stacking the remains on pallets for environmental disposal;
- keeping the outside areas clean, tidy, free from hazards and noting when skips are nearing capacity so that new ones can be ordered;
- helping to keep the workshop clean and tidy and also lending a hand if and when required. The emphasis is on reliability and a conscientious work ethic, we are known for our consistently high standards and quality products and service and you would be a strong contributor to that.
This is a permanent position, 5 days a week with at least 8 hours per day. Start and finish times are variable due to the nature of the deliveries, some sites are many hours away (most are a reasonable driving time away) and the yard work will come second to the delivery schedule.
Pay: Up to £27,000.00 per year
