We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering Team in our newly created role. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver structured process improvement projects, transforming how our design to manufacture process flows and is executed, optimizing our manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency and quality, whilst reducing costs and defects via continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Map and analyse current design-to-manufacturing workflows to identify inefficiencies, integration opportunities, and root causes of process failure, to determine the most reliable, safe and cost-effective processes
Design, test, and validate improved workflows, systems and production methods across design and manufacturing functions
Act as the primary point of contact between the design office and factory floor, troubleshooting to resolve manufacturing issues
Management of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and material movement through Plan For Every Part (PFEP)
Lead and deliver strategic engineering and operational improvement projects to help build scalable and reliable production outputs
Collaborate and assist with the design team and wider business for the development and introduction of new products to ensure manufacturability of new designs, with design for manufacture reviews, establishing effective processes for successful production launch
Provide essential technical support to production ensuring processes are efficient, safe, and compliant with quality and safety standards, while driving productivity improvements, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation relating to process, product specifications and standards
Jig / fixture design
Essential Criteria:
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- Previous experience working in a Manufacturing / Process Engineer role
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
- Proven experience working within a Manufacturing / Engineering environment
- A sound knowledge of manufacturing, material management and industrial engineering
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with ERP/MRP Systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
