Our Insights & Analytics team sits at the heart of our firm, helping clients make better decisions through modelling, analytics and data-driven insight. Working alongside actuaries, investment consultants, risk specialists and software developers, they combine technical expertise with innovative thinking to solve complex problems for some of the UK's largest pension schemes, insurers and financial institutions. We have an exciting opportunity for an analyst to join our growing team. This is an ideal role for a numerate graduate or early-career professional looking to develop technical modelling skills, gain exposure to a wide range of actuarial and investment challenges and build a rewarding career in financial modelling and analytics.
What will your role look like?
As an analyst in this team, you'll work closely with experienced modellers, actuaries, investment specialists and software developers across our business to deliver modelling and analytical solutions for a diverse range of clients.
You'll have the opportunity to work on projects spanning pensions, investments, and financial risk modelling, while developing a strong understanding of how modelling supports real-world client decisions. From analysing data and running models to contributing to research and development projects, you'll play an important role in helping us deliver high-quality insight and advice.
Though this is a varied role, your key responsibilities will include:

Building your knowledge of actuarial, pensions and investment concepts and developing an understanding of how modelling supports our clients.

Running models and performing analysis to support client projects and internal research.

Reviewing results for accuracy and reasonableness, identifying potential issues and highlighting key findings.

Preparing reports, presentations and other project outputs for colleagues and clients.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across our pensions, investment and analytics teams to deliver client projects.

Assisting with the development and testing of modelling tools and prototype models.

Working with senior colleagues to apply modelling techniques creatively to solve business problems.

Contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and support innovation across the team.

Developing coding and/ or technical skills, including opportunities to work with R and other analytical tools.

Adhering to the firm's Information Security standards, policies and procedures.

A numerate degree, such as mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, economics, physics, engineering, computer science or a related subject.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in using data and modelling techniques to answer complex questions.

Experience of Microsoft Excel or similar analytical tools would be helpful but is not essential.

Experience of coding, particularly in R, Python or similar languages, would be beneficial, although not essential and enthusiasm to learn is equally important.
